What is “teaming”? Most of us identify a team similar to a sports team that is stable with the ability to practice together to be high performing. Amy Edmondson defines a team as a stable, bounded group of individuals interdependent on achieving a shared goal. But, how do you pull together a high performing team of individuals who haven’t worked together? Or with individuals who were asked to take on roles they aren’t formally qualified for? She explains the reality is that most teams are constantly changing and a 24-hour operation. Her impactful message about building teams is captured in her TED Talk as she covers key insights on “professional culture clash”, “situational humility”, overcome “scarcity” and provides phenomenal examples on the complexities we face today.
